As a fun-loving documentary duo, we approach the day with a blend of careful planning and joyful spontaneity, so nothing gets missed. We often begin the day at the temple, photographing the meaningful details of the sanctuary, the carefully prepared Torah portion, and those emotional moments during the service itself — the proud smile during the aliyah, the careful wrapping of tefillin, the drape of a tallit over new shoulders, and the proud looks from family watching from the pews. We’re mindful of your timeline, working closely with your family and temple staff to build a relaxed, seamless photo schedule so you can stay present in the moment. After the service, we often create a set of formal family portraits right there at the bimah, capturing multiple generations together while everyone looks their best.

Ahead of the big day, we also love doing pre-mitzvah portrait sessions that highlight your teen’s personality in a fun, creative way — whether that means exploring the colorful streets of Somerville, the rustic trails of Watchung Reservation, the waterfront views at Sandy Hook, the charming downtown of Metuchen, or the leafy parks and gardens in Holmdel. These sessions are a perfect way to create meaningful sign-in book photos, custom décor for your reception, or simply to document who they are right now before the whirlwind of the day itself.

Once the party kicks off, we shift into full storytelling mode, blending into the crowd so we can catch the real, unposed magic — the wild dance floor energy once the DJ gets going, the hora chair lifts soaring through the air, the heartfelt candle-lighting ceremony, the proud toasts and emotional speeches, the laughter between cousins, and every tiny in-between moment that makes your family who they are.
